DENPASAR, NETIZENBALI.com - After a very successful event in 2021 that raised over 1 billion IDR in funds, this year Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) Indonesia will again run a charity long distance run/walk event  titled "Million Meals March" on May 21, 2022.

The event's purpose remains the same, to provide food for the most vulnerable people in Bali and Indonesia.  This year there are 3 tracks: 25 Km, 15 Km and 5 Km suitable for all ages. Journey starts at Puri Anyar (The Royal Palace) of Kerambitan, than will take you through the villages of Kerambitan, down to the dense jungles of Tabanan, through the Yeh Ho river, across the cascading beautiful rice fields, and finally to Kelating Beach. We will finish this year on the beachfront for well-deserved food and drinks.

“Last year we successfully held the first edition of the “Million Meals March”, and managed to raise 1 billion IDR or the equivalent of 500,000 food supplies which we distributed entirely to communities in need in Bali. We are excited to organize the same event this year and hope to raise more funds. As you know Bali has been badly affected by COVID19 and its people still need our helping hand,” said Minni Vansgaard, General Manager of Scholars of Sustenance Indonesia.

Founder of Scholars of Sustenance Bo H. Holmsgreen said, "In addition to having the opportunity to participate, the participants will learn to understand the rich traditions and culture of Bali, especially Puri Anyar (Royal Palace) Kerambitan which has been established since 1600, and also enjoy the natural beauty of Tabanan, Bali. If they manage to raise funds of IDR 5 million or more, participants can enjoy dinner with the Kerambitan royal family. It is possible for people to attend the Royal Palace Dinner for a fee, whether you're a participant or not. All proceeds from this event will of course be used to provide food for communities in need throughout Bali and in Indonesia," he said.
