Carol in her conversation with netizenbali.com, she said that this is an annual event that should be festive with fireworks eliminated due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"That’s our city, Brisbane, usually we have a huge fireworks show called ‘River Fire’. But there is no fireworks this year because of Covid", said Carol Watters in a chat conversation.
Furthermore, this year the laser light show was a better option as it can be viewed from far away. This helps to eliminate crowds of people and allow for safer social distancing. [NB]
