German tourist plunges to death from Tabanan cliff as he attempts to capture sunset
TABANAN, NETIZENBALI.com - A 22-year-old German man identified as Maximilian Alexandei Tenzer lost his life after a fall from a 15-meter high cliff at Pura Luhur Srijong Beach in Antap Village in Tabanan yesterday.
Reports say that the incident occurred at around 5:50pm as Tenzer and his girlfriend, Selina Herbst, 21, were visiting the idyllic Tabanan spot.
According to the Tabanan Police spokesman Gusti Made Berata, the tragic episode began as Tenzer, engrossed in capturing the coastal panorama and sunset, inadvertently ventured too close to the cliff’s edge. This lack of caution led to the fatal slip and fall.
Tenzer’s girlfriend, distraught and alarmed, promptly contacted the online taxi driver who had dropped them off. She urgently conveyed the grim news of Tenzer’s tragic accident.
In the aftermath, they sought assistance from the nearest resident and promptly alerted the police. Responding to the call, officers from the Selemadeg Police Precinct arrived at the scene to investigate.
Upon examination, it was painfully apparent that Tenzer had succumbed to the injuries sustained in the fall.
Tenzer’s body was later brought to the Tabanan Hospital pending further examination. (NB/ Coconuts.co)
