Gilimanuk – Mengwi toll road worth Rp 24.6 trillion started construction, target completed by 2025

JEMBRANA, NETIZENBALI.com - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has begun to build the Gilimanuk – Mengwi Toll Road in Bali Province with a length of 96.84 kilometers.

Construction is marked by laying the first stone or groundbreaking by the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono with the Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster in Pekutatan, Jembrana, Saturday, September 10, 2022.

Basuki said that the toll road, which costs an investment of Rp. 24.6 trillion, is targeted for completion in 2028. However, he wants all construction to be completed by the end of 2025.

The Gilimanuk-Mengwi Toll Road is divided into 3 sections. Section 1 of Gilimanuk-Pekutatan is 53.6 kilometers long, Section 2 of Pekutatan-Soka is 24.3 kilometers long, and Section 3 of Soka-Mengwi is 18.9 kilometers long.

“There will be lanes for motorcyclists and bicycles,” Basuki said through a press release, Saturday.

The Gilimanuk – Mengwi Toll Road will be built across 3 regencies, 13 sub-districts and 58 villages. The development is carried out by empowering 4 villages in Bali as integrated rest areas, each of which has a different concept, for example Jembrana which promotes local wisdom.

In addition, the Pekutatan area will support an international playground area. Then Soka with a rural concept as a place to rest, and Tabanan as a logistics center for distribution within the city. (NB/ indonesia.postsen)
