[IN PICTURE] PORTUGUESE AIR FORCE RESCUE OF PASSENGER “WONDER OF THE SEAS” AT SEA

PORTUGAL, NETIZENBALI.com - The Air Force rescued, during the dawn on April 27th, 2022. A 79-year-old passanger of British nationality, from ship "WONDER OF THE SEAS", with the Bahamas flag, who needed urgent medical care, finding about 785 km Southwest of Terceira Island.

The EH-101 Merlin helicopter, from Squadron 751 – “Pumas”, took off from Air Base at 10:30 pm.  Accompanying and supporting this mission was the C-295M, from Squadron 502 – “Elefantes”.

The passanger was successfully recovered and later transported to Lajes Airport on Terceira Island, landing around 11:40 pm (local time) on April 27, 2022 where a medical team was waiting to transport him to a Hospital Unit. (NB)
